Udenwa Kicks off Campaign, Promises Improvement

Governor Achike Udenwa of Imo on Tuesday at Anara in Isiala Mbano Local Government commenced the campaign for a re-election with a promise to consolidate his developmental strides.

Udenwa, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer in Imo State, told party supporters on Tuesday that he would embark on more people oriented projects under his "redemption programme''.

He described PDP as a formidable party which would match all possible challenges the state.

"No party can defeat us because we are deeply rooted in Imo,'' the governor said.

Udenwa explained that he began his campaign at Isiala Mbano because he held the people of Okigwe zone in high esteem.

"Isiala Mbano will give us good luck in this election, considering the crowd we see today,'' he said.

He formally presented the incumbent deputy governor, Chief Ebere Udeagu, who hails from Okigwe zone, as his running mate in the election.

Earlier, Chairman, PDP in Imo State, Dr Alex Obi, had presented the party's flag to Udenwa, the senatorial candidate for Okigwe, Chief Ifeanyi Ararume, as well as the candidates for the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly.

Udenwa had earlier in the inaugurated the multi-million naira water projects at Amauzari and Ogbo communities as well as the Boudex telephone communication facilities at the Isiala Mbano local Government Headquarters, Umuelemai.
