Lagos State workers under the aegis of the Lagos chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), have urged the re-elected governor of the state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to deliver on his campaign promises, especially those that concern the welfare of the workers, even as they promised to work with him in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.

In a statement signed by the secretary, Mr.Ismail Bello, and made available to the press after a meeting of the newly elected executives of the council yesterday at the Lagos sub-secretariat of the NLC, the council congratulated the governor on his election victory and asked him to see it as a challenge to better the lot of the state and its workers.

"We ask Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to see his re-election as a challenge to consolidate on the steady infrastructural development and renewal carried out in the last four years, strengthen the improved security, traffic and waste management situation, and show more commitment to improving the conditions and welfare of workers in Lagos State," the statement said.
